Shocking footage has emerged of a terrified man’s desperate fight to survive a kangaroo attack.

Wild footage has emerged of a man’s desperate fight against a kangaroo, who had the upper hand for the majority of the brawl.

The video, which is believed to have been shot at Ballina in northern NSW, shows the man having to pull out all the stops to fend off the feisty marsupial.

The terrified man can be seen running from the kangaroo in the background of the video before stumbling to the ground as he comes into frame.

The kangaroo appears to stomp on him before it circles back around ready for a fight.

The man grabs a stick and unleashes a frantic swing as it approaches, which the tenacious marsupial dodges before seemingly landing some shots to his upper body.

He is eventually backed into a corner against a fence where the animal continues to ram into him.

They then begin to grapple with each other, before the man manages to bin the kangaroo to the ground.

It is not known whether the man or kangaroo sustained any injuries as a result of the incident.

It comes after a golf course on the Gold Coast was forced to close last week following continued kangaroo attacks.

Two women in their 60s suffered serious injuries in two separate attacks, with one rushed to hospital and the other left with large cuts to her neck, arms and back.
