A Queensland wildlife photographer and content creator has managed to escape war-torn Israel after she secured a flight to London earlier this week.
Under the name ‘She’s Got Legs’, award-winning wildlife photographer Caitlin Henderson travels Australia documenting small, weird and unappreciated creatures.
But on October 10, Ms Henderson took to social media to reveal she had escaped the Israel-Hamas war.
“I heard a number of you were worried and had reached out to media so I apologise for not updating you sooner.” she wrote.
“I have been quiet over the past few days as Gil Wizen and I have been trying to get out of Israel as quickly as possible.
“We are safe and managed to leave yesterday morning on a flight to London after waiting in line for ten hours to secure a ticket.
“My heart goes out to those we left behind and everyone else affected by this terrible conflict.”
It is unclear why Ms Henderson had travelled to Israel but in the last 24-hours she provided another update that she had ‘Made it to Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards!” at the Natural History Museum in London.
Ms Henderson’s family runs Minibeast Wildlife, an invertebrate pet store and education centre near Cairns.
