Rhonda the cat was sprung stowed away in the suspension of a car parked in a Brisbane carpark in February, leading to a challenging rescue.
After hearing a faint meowing from the carpark for a number of days, a local resident investigated the calls and found a tuft of hair peeking out from the top of the car suspension.
The resident could tell this was an animal in need of help and called in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
RSPCA rescue officer Elise put her tyre-changing skills to good use to free the trapped cat.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Luckily for the stuck cat, the owner [of the car] was living in Victoria so the car was stationary for a while.”
Rhonda was taken to the RSPCA Brisbane Animal Care Campus where she was given a health check before eventually finding a new home.
