These furry celebrities have a designer wardrobe to drool over — literally — and get invited to all the best parties.
The doggie influencers were out in force at an event on the northern beaches recently to support a new business idea by Many Vale’s Jaclyn Tindale, 58, founder of Modern Dog Emporium.
Star of the show was Coco the Peekapoo, part toy poodle, part Pekingese pooch, with 43,000 fans on Instagram.
Her social media following means Coco gets sent all the latest designer dog wear.
She has seven beds to choose from and a her own walk-in wardrobe full of Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Tiffany and Swarovski crystal accessories.
Owner Alina Michaels, 30, from Fairlight, said she only started Coco’s Instagram account for fun two years ago when they bought their “fur baby” but it has ”spiralled out of control”.
“She’s a natural poser,” she said.
“People love her for her fashion and her hairstyles.”
Mrs Michaels, who works full-time in insurance, said she gets stopped in the street because people recognise Coco from Instagram.
Being an Insta-famous dog means she’s in demand for all sorts of influencer jobs, along with her famous peers.
“She’s so busy, she has her own diary,” Mrs Michaels said.
“We go to four or five events at the weekends.
“It’s one party after another.”
Coco’s own birthday party last August was a star-studded collar event with her closest Insta famous friends.
Mrs Michaels paid out $2,000 for the party with another $7,000 from sponsors who provided luxury goodie bags.
She also organised an Instagram Christmas party for 40 dogs, complete with pictures with Santa, a cake, drinks and gift bags.
Not surprisingly, Coco’s fame has changed Mrs Michaels and her husband Sarmen’s lives.
“We have made so many new friends, I was even a bridesmaid for someone I met through social media.”
At the northern beaches event Coco was joined by lots of fur pals including cool duo Angel, a 16-year-old staffy and Chubbs, an 11-year-old pug cross Shih tzu from Forestville, who have more than 5000 followers.
Ms Tindale who organised the event to promote Hotel Hound Stix, a vegan dog stick which is suitable for dogs with allergies, said inviting Insta famous dogs to her promotion was a sure fire way to get some attention.
She said her product was available at a growing number of breweries which welcome dogs and their human parents, including 7th day Brewery in Brookvale, and at many cafes.
