THE Queensland Greyhound Adoption Program team are throwing the doors wide open this Saturday for its biggest ‘Winter Woofland Open Day’ yet.
Getting underway at 9am, the day serves as the perfect gateway to enter the world of greyhound adoption, with the friendly and hard-working GAP team on hand to help you find your perfect companion on the day.
“Whether you’re there to meet your pre-matched greyhound or looking for the perfect companion on the day, we’re here to help you find your new best friend,” QRIC’s Chantal Raine said.
“We are excited to be opening our doors and inviting the community into our beautiful facility set amongst the trees near Atkinsons Dam at Churchable.
“Our adoption and foster teams prepare retired racing greyhounds to transition to family home life and this is a great opportunity to see their important work up close.
“Tour the kennels and visit the sensory gardens, where we introduce greyhounds to new surfaces and objects they will find in their new home life.
“This is a chance to learn how we get to know each individual greyhound and adopting family so we can match you with the right dog for your lifestyle.”
Free to all comers, the day includes plenty of fun activities, including a guided tour of the kennel facility where you will be able to enjoy pats, cuddles and go for a walk with greyhounds in search of their “forever home”.
“Greyhounds make wonderful companions – they are loyal, affectionate and are looking to become part of your family.”
