A drone photographer has caught the beautiful moment hundreds of sharks gathered about 10 metres off a popular beach in the Gold Coast.
Around 4.30am Thursday, drone photographer Ayla Schepisi never would have guessed what she would capture at Miami Beach.
Ms Schepisi said she was flying her drone down the beach when she captured the pack of sharks.
“There was also an underwater videographer from Below Deck,” she said.
“He didn’t know and I told him when he got out and one of the sharks was just in the frame.”
Ms Schepisi said people in the comments seemed to think they were bull sharks or tiger sharks.
“I go to the beach all the time because it’s really nice and I was literally about to go for a swim when I looked at it and though holy sh*t thank god I didn’t,” she said.
Ms Schepisi said she had never seen anything like it.
“There were just so many it was insane but so beautiful,” she said.
“I know they always be there it was just amazing to capture them on shore so close.”
Ms Schepisi said earlier in the morning there was a man who said he spotted a few fins.
“I’m a content creator and do drone photography but I was just on there trying to get a video for my own social media,” she said.
“We got there super early and it was so dark,” she said.
Ms Schepisi said it was “so random.”
“I honestly was just zooming along the water because I was worried the drone would run out of battery and I thought oh my gosh there must be 100 sharks,” she said.
“It was just so out of the blue, there was two surfers in the water that were so close to them and they had no idea,” she said.
Ms Schepisi said the sharks were right where waves were breaking.
“If I was swimming I would’ve been in them,” she said.
“At first I thought they were fish and then I was like oh no nevermind.”
