A much-loved Queensland therapy dog and all-round “good boy” received a rousing farewell guard of honour after he was diagnosed with a health battle of his own.
Golden boy Norman along with his owner were clapped out by staff, volunteers and patients at the Sunshine Coast Hospital as he hung up his leash for the very last time after being diagnosed with canine thyroid cancer.
The beloved pooch, who is 10 years old, had provided hundreds of patients with love, cuddles and slobbery kisses for the past seven years, five of which at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
In a video posted to social media, Sunshine Coast University Hospital staff said their favourite four-legged friend will be solely missed as his visits were always a highlight for the patients and staff.
The “clap out” came during his last ever therapy shift at the hospital with staff blowing bubbles as he made his way down Hospital Street.
