They describe Bella as black and white with some brown on her face adding she is half deaf and wearing a bright pink collar with “mum mobile” on it.

“I woke up to go to the toilet, she’s usually waiting for a pat, but she wasn’t there,” said Ms Healey.

“She’s sweet but dumb, so I thought she might have just gotten out.”

She then discovered thieves had entered the Hillcrest Ave backyard, broken into the shed to steal tools, leaving the side gate open.

Bella was nowhere to be seen.

Fearing the worst Ms Healey contacted the after-hours vet to see if they had her, contacted the local pound and reported the robbery to the police.

She plastered the neighbourhood with reward posters and enlisted friends and family to conduct searches, all to no avail.

It is unclear if Bella escaped during the robbery or was stolen.

“Why would you steal a desexed, microchipped eight-year old cavalier, it’s not like you can breed her,” Ms Healey wondered.

“They’re usually after those fighting dogs.”

No matter the circumstances, Ms Healey is desperate for get friendly Bella back home.

“She thinks she’s a cat, she’s just a cuddle bug,” she said.

She urged anyone with information to get in contact.
