The exclusive flight, consisting entirely of Virgin Australia LGBTQIA+ crew and allies, included a DJ, a best-dressed competition and mid-air drag shows.

“Basically the pride flag is a party in the sky, so we’re warming up for Mardi Gras, getting everyone from around Australia to worldwide and Mardi Gras to have a great time,” Maxi Shield said.

Radio host and TV personality, Angie Kent, said she was ‘stocked’ to be one of the lucky 189 passengers on board the pride flight.

“I’m so stoked to go on a flight to WorldPride with all these fabulous people dressed up,” she said.

“Being queer myself, just to be you know, included and celebrated. It’s just amazing. I’m super grateful, it’s been it’s sensational.”
