The little-known sign that led my waxer to suspect I was pregnant

Just take it from one Aussie mum on TikTok, who shared the unbelievable story of how she found out she was pregnant during her first waxing appointment.

"This is excruciating"

In a viral TikTok video, Laura (@crimpytoses) detailed the surprising incident after a follower had asked her to explain how she discovered she was pregnant.

"Storytime on finding out I was pregnant during my first Brazilian wax," she began, recounting the experience from when she was 17.

Describing herself as "super awkward" and sporting a "really short skirt," Laura was understandably nervous for her first session.

She remembered asking her waxer, "Can I keep my skirt on and just pull it up, and I’ll take my underwear off?" The waxer agreed, and the session began.

She then says she remembers it being incredibly painful. "I just kept being like, ‘This is excruciating. Oh my God!’” Laura said, adding that she’d been waxed elsewhere before but never felt pain this intense.

The waxer assured her that the wax was not hot at all, even applying some to Laura's elbow to prove it.

"Finally she looks at me, she’s like, ‘You’re not pregnant, are you?’ And I was like, ‘Absolutely not,’ but then had to be like, ‘When was my last period?’” Laura recalled.

It turns out, her waxer’s suspicion was right on the money.

Laura later confirmed her pregnancy but credits the waxer as the first to even suspect it.

"She was like, ‘B***h you weak — you weak,’” Laura laughed.

"How horrifying"

The comment section on her video was flooded with reactions.

"OMG what a way to find out," one person replied. "How horrifying," another user added.

"This is my favourite story," someone else added in. 

Another shared a similar story, "With my youngest I was on birth control, had periods every month and had no symptoms until I was about six months pregnant and felt kicking in my tummy."
