‘My kids’ school banned me because I have 800 tattoos’

“I’m not allowed in the local pub either, but worst of all, I can’t get a job,” the mum-of-two reveals.

Melissa Sloan can’t get work, but it’s not for lack of trying.

The UK mum-of-two has applied for myriad jobs, but she says that no one will hire her because she’s got over 800 tattoos, a collection she’s been adding to since she got her first piece of body art at 20.

“I can’t get a job,” she told the Daily Star. “I applied for a job cleaning toilets where I live, and they won’t have me because of my tattoos.

“People have said I have never had a job in my life, but I have had one once and it didn’t last long.

“If someone offered me a job tomorrow, I would go and work – I would take that offer.”

Her inked appearance isn’t just keeping her out of the work force.

The 46-year-old has been banned from her local pub in Wales, and from her children’s school.

Mum addicted to tattoos can’t job

Melissa told The Mirror that she’s “addicted” to tattoos and that she gets three new ones every week.

She’s almost run out of space, and has tattooed over old tattoos.

“If I make it to 70 I’ll still be getting them,” she said. “Every bit of skin will be covered even if I’m turning blue. My face is already turning blue – I look like a Smurf.”

Facial tattoos are her favourite art.

“I’ve got three layers on my face. I probably have the most tattoos in the world, and if not then at the rate I’m going on I probably will have in the end – I keep going over and over them,” she said.

If tattoos are preventing Melissa from getting her a job, she hopes they’ll propel her towards a more exciting achievement: a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records

“I’d like to be a record holder. It’s just something different.”
