Mum’s baby name reveal goes viral for all the wrong reasons

“I think every child given such a ridiculous name should sue their parents."

Mum's treat yourself moment—and it was glorious!

When Aubree Jones posted a TikTok introducing her newborn daughter, she expected congratulations.

What she didn’t expect was to be bombarded with backlash.

“New baby name reveal!!! We’re so excited to welcome this sweet little baby into our home,” she wrote on the post.

“We’re all smitten and so in love. It’s been truly magical having her. Here’s to our family’s happily ever after!”

"Y'all need to adopt pets instead"

Perched between an array of stuffed toy Disney characters, the young baby yawns before her name is revealed: Disney Mae Jones.

All to the tune of the iconic Disney jingle, while she sports a pair of Mickey Mouse ears on her small head.

However, the comment section didn’t provide the fairytale ending.

“Wait, can Disney sue for this?” questioned one user.

Another criticises: “Wait… y'all do remember you are naming adults, right?”

“I think every child given such a ridiculous name should sue their parents for all the emotional damage and embarrassment they will inevitably endure. Australia has name rules, and it really should be something they put in place everywhere,” a third pointed out.

“My son has an ‘Ocean' in his class. I asked ‘like Atlantic?’ Some of y’all need to adopt pets instead of having kids,” another argued.

"A unique name"

It’s not the first time Aubree and her husband Josh have selected a unique name for their children.

Disney Mae Jones is the youngest of her siblings: Trendy, Sunny, Zaylee, Truly and Journey.

Some have come to the defence of the couple, arguing that they have the right to name their child whatever they want.

“I think Disney is lovely for a wee girl,” one commenter says.

"Disney is a beautiful name! As a peds nurse, this is not the first time I have seen a child named Disney. It’s such a unique name,” another explains.

“Congrats!!! What a beautiful little baby! Love her name! God bless her,” a third praised.

The name “Disney” might seem extreme to some, but it’s part of a growing trend among millennial and Gen Z parents opting for highly individual or brand-inspired baby names.

While the internet loves to weigh in on baby names, only time will tell whether Disney Mae grows up to love her whimsical name.
