A mum has revealed how she spends at least $2000 on her 10 kids every Easter.

US mother Alicia Dougherty revealed that she starts shopping for the holiday a whole month before in a recent video on her YouTube channel.

Speaking in the recent video, Alicia said: “Easter is one month away but I’ve learnt the hard way that you’ve got to shop ahead of time when you’re shopping for ten kids because you need ten of everything.

“If you shop too close to the holiday they’re wiped out. Shopping is oddly my me-time, I enjoy it.”

She heads to Walmart where she sets about buying and filling her kids’ Easter buckets although it isn’t just chocolates that the kids will find inside.

Alicia picked up each child a blanket with a plushie, pavement chalk, a fishing rod, a new outfit to co-ordinate with their brother and sisters, fidget balls, bubbles, a windmill, chocolates, marshmallows, Easter glasses, jelly beans, lollies and a packet of pringles.

“I did more damage there than I thought I was gonna do,” Alicia admits with her Walmart receipt coming in at $1,147.

But she hasn’t finished yet, revealing that she has also spent a cool $865 on matching swimsuits for the children and plans to buy them goggles and further Easter eggs bringing her total up to $2,013.

Alicia, from Pittsford, New York, adopted six of her children and regularly posts updates on them on her popular Instagram pages.

In a 2018 interview with People, Alicia and her husband Josh explained that all six of their adopted kids have behavioural issues and suffer from Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) – making family life a little more challenging.

Although they weren’t aware of this when adopting their first son Alex – who was four at the time, the parents threw themselves into helping him – and went on to help other kids with “difficult behaviours.”

“We became known as the parents who could handle the difficult behaviours,” Alicia said, and now, the power duo share insight into their hectic family life in TikTok and Instagram.
