“Why can’t I reach the back?"
Kathryn begins with a brief list of what she hopes to accomplish, but once out of the car, she embarks on an act every mother can relate to: putting the baby carrier on alone.
In an edited montage, Kathryn places Sereia in the carrier and tackles the challenge of fastening the buckle at the top of her back.
She twists and turns, awkwardly trying to secure the clip while her newborn fusses.
“Why can’t I reach the back?” she huffs at the camera.
At one point, she sees another mum who surely understands the struggle.
“Locks eyes with another mum,” she captions on the screen.
The struggle was so relatable that Kathryn later isolated the clip of her baby carrier battle and shared it on TikTok as a standalone video.
Eventually, she successfully secures the carrier and moves to take on the pram next.
After struggling to unfold and clip together the bassinet and frame, she finally realises her infant has dozed off to sleep.
She carefully transfers Sereia into the pram and heads into Kmart, where she manages to shop until the baby makes it clear she’s hungry.
"The tits coming out," she declares before a brief feed stop in the furniture aisle.

"The anxiety I needed today"
Kathryn continues her shopping, but it doesn't take long before she encounters another mishap.
"That’s the last time I ever pick up anything that gets knocked over by my pram, because the pram just fell over entirely," she recounts.
“This is actually a really embarrassing shopping trip.”
Her comment section was flooded with praise for her honesty and relatability.
"Not leaving the house after watching this because this just gave me the anxiety I needed today," one mum joked.
Another commented: “The way no one offered to help you.”
“I would need three business days to recover if this was me,” joked a third.
Others shared helpful advice.
“I leave the back of the carrier done up and then put my head into it like a jumper,” one parent suggested
“I put my hand over my head to do the back strap, can be a little tricky but it’s easier than doing it like a bra,” advised another.

Kathryn clarified in the comments that the mishap was not the carrier’s fault.
"I love this carrier. I just didn’t loosen the straps and then acted like I wasn’t the problem. I got it on in two seconds inside the shops," she explained.
Her video is a true ‘been there, done that’ moment for any parent attempting a solo Kmart run with a newborn.
