Mum Liv has an adorable two-year-old who loves wearing make-up.

Liv insists Elena begs her to apply products and knows all about contour and lipstick.

"I can't believe the amount of hate I get"

On her @livvjohnstonx account, Liv demonstrates the make-up application, which delights her daughter.

She says: "I can't believe the amount of hate that I get for letting my two-year-old wear make-up.

"I've had so many negative comments... and to be honest, it confuses me."

Liv adds, "Now hear me out, she doesn't wear a full face every day, I don't wake up and think I need to do her make-up.

"But there is an occasion that she asks me [to do it] because she loves it, and she loves to be like mummy and do what mummy does.

"If a boy picked up tools, you wouldn't shout at him and tell him to put them down because he doesn't need to use them."

Liv claims that she always tells Elena that make-up is about playing rather than hiding anything.

"That's not the reason I use make-up, because I actually prefer myself without make-up," she concludes. "But I use it because it's fun and creative. And I think no matter who you are, you are always prettier without make-up.

"I don't like this idea that makeup is only for insecurities, it's only to hide yourself, when in reality, I think you can tell a person's personality by the kind of make-up that they wear and the kind of make-up that they enjoy creating.

"Let kids do what makes them happy, because I know I will."

Another asked, with no judgement, "What shade of bronzer you use?"

And many praised Liv for her parenting, with one saying, "Bless her she loves it, you're a brilliant mum."
