'Maccas 4 nights in a row': Mum's 'lazy' parenting confession

Can you relate to her reason for this uncommon habit?

Mum admits to getting Maccas 4 nights in a row as it's 'easier' for toddler

Liv Johnston is a self-confessed "lazy parent" who chooses to do things "the easy way."

The mum-of-one says she'll often find ways to cut corners if it means easing the load, at least for a while.

"I think this is our fourth McDonald's in a row," she explains in a TikTok clip as she unboxes a Happy Meal while in her dressing gown.

"But for me, I cannot be a**ed to cook."

The 'lazy mum' confession

Liv says it's just easier for her to order fast food than to "actually have to get things out" and then "clean the pots."

Not ashamed of being called a lazy parent, Liv says she'll do "things to make life easier", especially "when my husband's not here."

"When it is just me during the day, yes, I will order a McDonald's," she said. "Yes, I will do it days in a row until I start to realise that maybe I actually have to cook."

Liv believes there's "nothing wrong" with choosing the easy way sometimes, but knows that "a lot of people will probably have a different opinion" to her.

She then asked her followers, "Should I cook for once?"

"Can I be bothered? No. It's way easier to order McDonald's.

"Are you a cook-a-five-star-meal-every-meal type of parent?"

"No point in cooking when your partner is away"

Most commenters actually agreed with the mum's approach and said they, too, were lazy parents sometimes.

"Definitely a lazy parent here! Some potato waffles in the air fryer," one wrote.

"I’m not a mum yet, but when I can’t be bothered, I just can’t be bothered. Nothing wrong with a few shortcuts here and there," a second agreed.

"There’s no point in cooking when your partner's away, so I feel you," a third chimed in.

"I do enjoy cooking but it is such a chore to have to think what to make, go and buy the ingredients and then cook it. Definitely easier just ordering in sometimes," a fourth shared.

And then this mum made the point: "Every day, having to think about what’s for dinner, then the kids don’t eat it, but a McDonald’s or pizza is always a win."

"I’m with you here! However, I do prefer KFC," another parent concluded.
