Kmart has recalled three children’s toy sets amid fears they contain sand contaminated with asbestos.

The latest recall involves HL Toys International’s ‘Sensory Activity Sets’ featuring Paw Patrol, Frozen 2 and Bluey licensed toys.

The recall relates to product SKU numbers: 43625239, 43610266 and 43610259 sold between 8 October 2025 and 17 November 2025.

The activity sets are the latest additions to a growing list of recalled kinetic sand products.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commissioner (ACCC) continue to encourage those affected to stop using any identified sand products immediately.

Kmart took to social media to share the product recall.

“The products are being recalled because the sand may include asbestos, which is a prohibited substance in Australia,” the statement read.

“Customers should immediately stop using the products and safely dispose of the products.”

The ACCC recently issued a seperate warning relating to products by CleverPatch, including coloured sand, glitter sand and arts kits.

A full list of recalled CleverPatch products is available on the ACCC website.

“The products may cause a risk to health as tremolite and chrysolite asbestos has been detected in some samples after laboratory testing,” the ACCC website said.

“While the risk that any asbestos found is likely to be airborne or fine enough for inhalation is low, this may still pose a risk.”

The latest recall comes almost one month after the ACCC issued a nationwide warning in November that forced hundreds of Australian schools to temporarily close.

Kmart’s 14-piece Sand Castle Building Set and their Blue, Green and Pink Magic Sand product were some of the first to be recalled.

Kmart confirmed to NewsWire this week that no asbestos was detected in the Anko Magic Sand products and the voluntary recall had since been cancelled.

“In mid-November, Kmart and Target recalled sand-based toy products as part of industry-wide concerns about several imported sand-based toy products,” the brand said in a statement.

“There is no evidence of asbestos detection in these products and our voluntary recall of these products is therefore cancelled.”

Customers do not need to return or dispose of these products, and those who did dispose of them between November 16 and December 3 during the recall may contact Kmart customer service for a refund.
