I'm slammed for living in a 'shoe box' with my kids

"But my place has some perks that yours most likely doesn't."

Mum's treat yourself moment—and it was glorious!

A mum of three has defended herself against trolls who've accused her of being a "bad mum" by living in a "shoe box" in essentially a caravan park, with her three kids.

Nikki, has hit back at the criticism in a TikTok, claiming that not only do people not understand her situation, but there are actually perks, too.

Nikki regularly shares her life on the platform, but has had enough of the negativity in response.

For example, she's explained that because she doesn't have a laundry, viewers assume she has to wash all the clothes by hand, while others believe she doesn’t have a washing line.

She's also been accused of being "unfair" to her kids because it's thought she has nowhere for them to play.

All of this has led the mum, who has 16k followers, to set the record straight.

Nikki has now explained that she has a washing machine inside her lodge and even has two washing lines – so, she has outdoor space.

She also noted that where her cabin is located, there is a park and a swimming pool for the kids to play in: "I think we're perfectly fine."

The mum added that the family has has two parking spaces for their cars and even have two bathrooms in their lodgings – one with a bath and an ensuite with a shower.

Finally, Nikki was forced to explain accusations from viewers who've accused her family of being “benefit bums living in a caravan.”

She clarified that both she and her husband have full-time jobs and neither of them are on benefits. She added: “Even if we were on benefits, that’s absolutely fine because some people can’t work.”

Finally, Nikki has some specific words for all the haters of her lifestyle: "We absolutely love living in a lodge.”

The video has gone viral with more than 300K views, and has attracted thousands of comments.

One viewer asked: “What happens in the two months you can’t stay there?”

Nikki replied matter-of-factly: “You have to move out.”

We think her attitude is admirable, and it's clear that she's doing the best she can, like most of us.

So, can we please begin to normalise people not living like the Kardashians, even in non-cost-of-living crisis times?
