Boo Baskets are a thing this Halloween so expect your kids to expect one

"Are we giving our kids Halloween baskets now? Lol mine are gonna be disappointed when they go to school and find out other kids got them."

Halloween is becoming bigger in Australia every year, and in 2023, there's a super cute addition.

(Or, as one mum put it, "something else to do on top of our 7 million jobs a day!", so I guess it depends on how sick of your mental load you are at the moment.)

They're called Boo Baskets - and they're exactly as described. Absolutely adorable Halloween-themed baskets for kids, not just for trick or treating, but packed with personalised gifts, too.

They're not an entirely new concept, but with 232 million views on the TikTok hashtag, Boo Baskets are definitely this year more popular than ever.

Boo Baskets for Halloween

One of the cutest Boo Baskets we've seen was posted by mum of toddlers Marlena. Her clip has been viewed more than a million times, despite her having a comparatively modest 152k followers.

The video shows Marlena with two felt Halloween buckets adorned with ghosts. This is what she puts in:

  • Genuine Crocs - themed Halloween
  • Wind up ghost and evil pumpkin
  • A Halloween board book
  • Skull fleece blanket
  • Halloween bubble blower
  • Bat-stickered drink bottle
  • Little Halloween craft kit

The result is something any kid - or kid-adult- who loves Halloween would want. Check her Boo Baskets out in this video:

"I'm an adult and I want one!"

The comments section was filled with impressed (and envious) viewers.

"You're such an amazing mum they will love them," congratulated one.

"I can't wait to be a mum and do stuff like this. YOU'RE AMAZING!!!" gushed another.

Then there were those who liked the concept, but were also exhausted by the thought, such as this mum, who wrote, "Are we giving our kids Halloween baskets now? Lol mine are gonna be disappointed when they go to school and find out other kids got them."

To which another mum added, "Something else to do on top of our 7 million jobs a day!!!"

There was also the question of when to give kids their baskets: "Wait are they supposed to give it October 1st?"

Marlena responded, "I give mine theirs on Halloween morning," which makes sense, as then the buckets can be used for trick or treating.

And whilst Marlena made her Boo Baskets for her little kids, obviously, the idea can be used as a gift for anyone. In fact, the hashtag includes videos of women tagging their boyfriends in the hopes of one.

As this user admitted, "I'm an adult and I want one! 🎃 👻"
