Baby born in McDonald's car park gets the cutest nickname

And no, it's not 'Chicken McNugget' or 'Baby Happy Meal.'

Mum gives birth to baby in the McDonald's parking lot

Giving birth at a fast food chain is unlikely to be on anyone's birth plan. But what is a mum having contractions to do when the hospital isn't close enough, but the golden arches are?

Analysia Beck told TODAY.com she was 38 weeks along in her pregnancy when she started noticing mild contractions around 11 p.m., which she attributed to Braxton Hicks (aka false labour). She went back to sleep but was jolted awake when her water broke a few hours later.

The mother of now three woke her husband and knew she didn't have much time to get organised, as someone had to come to watch her other children.

"By the time he got up and got his marbles together, I was like, it's happening; we need to go," Analysia says.

From bun in the oven to a Big Mac

When they got in the car, baby number three was ready to make his grand entrance.

“I knew almost as soon as we left our house that we weren't going to make it to the hospital," Analysia told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “But I never imagined we would be having the baby at McDonald’s.

"We were in the car for like two minutes when I was like, 'Daniel, you have to pull over, I feel like I’m sitting on the baby’s head,'" Analysia told TODAY.com. “At that point, I knew he was coming now."

Thank goodness for McDonald's; the father pulled into the car park and called for an ambulance. But they delivered baby Micah together right then and there.

"It was a huge surprise. It was probably the scariest and hardest thing I've ever done, but it was worth every second. My husband was terrified but handled it very well and stayed as calm as he could," Analysia says.

Enter the snowstorm

And when the dramatic delivery couldn't get any more, well dramatic, enter the snowstorm (not a new McFlury flavour).

Police and paramedics arrived, putting the baby on oxygen, which Analysia attributes to the snow blowing on his face as she delivered.

"I think it was because of how cold it was — snow was blowing into our car, and it got on his face," she says.

Luckily, baby Micah was healthy, and everything was fine.

The parents say his name was chosen before his birthplace was known, as friends and family quickly pointed out his name could be shortened to Mickey D's (the American slang for McDonald's).

His nickname is perfect

While the couple has given their new little love a perfectly fitting nickname, they call him their "Little McFlurry."

"Between the blizzard and the McDonald’s, we think it’s very fitting!"

So, how have the Becks been adjusting to being a family of five? After Micah was born, the couple still had some chaotic days. Due to the snowstorm, the family had lost power in their home. But are glad to be under one roof again with their other children.

"My son is three and is the best big brother to Micah. He's constantly kissing him, asking to hold him, or smelling him," Analysia says.

The couple's other child is still getting used to her new baby brother.

"My daughter is one, and she is not a fan of the baby at all," Analysia laughs.
