My mother-in-law pierced my baby's ears against my wishes...she says I should be grateful

An overly entitled grandmother has crossed a major boundary by piercing her 8-month-old baby's ears.

My mother-in-law is insisting on staying for two months to 'watch' my newborn

The words ‘mother-in-law', send jolts down the spine of most wives, and if it doesn’t, consider yourself lucky.

The constant meddling in your relationship, home and  life, is nothing compared to the entitlement when it comes to your children, just take it from this p*ssed off mum.

Infuriated mum, *Jennifer, took to Reddit to share the latest boundary her mother-in-law crossed when it came to her 8-month-old daughter, Annie.

Jennifer explained that her husband’s mother *Ashley expressed that she wanted to spend more quality time with her grandchild, before she was to be dropped off at daycare.

Annie’s mum had no issues with that what-so-ever and told her to go for it.

"I picked my daughter up and saw that her ears were pierced"

It wasn’t until Jennifer picked her infant daughter up in the evening from Ashley’s house, that she discovered an obvious change in her little bub that left her enraged.

"In the evening, I went to pick up my daughter from her house and noticed her ears were pierced,” she recounted.

"I asked my mother-in-law why she thought that it was okay to do that without my permission.

"She had asked about earrings in the past and I had told her that I wasn't going to put my baby in pain for something cosmetic - and I think babies look weird with earrings.

"She said I should thank her, because I didn't see my baby in pain.

"I told her she had absolutely no right to go against my feelings on the matter.”

Jennifer was infuriated even further when she learnt that not only did her mother-in-law pierce them without permission, but she went to a store at the mall, known for being cheap.

"If I were going to pierce her ears, I'd have taken her somewhere with professional piercers,” she yelled.

"My husband was just as angry as I was"

When the furious mum got home to tell her husband, he blew up and immediately called his mother to make it clear that she crossed a boundary.

"He told her that he was removing her from the list of approved pick-up people at Annie's daycare because he didn't trust her with Annie anymore,” said the supported wife.

Ashley sent a half-hazard apology the following day on facebook.

"I love Annie with all my heart and you know I would never do anything that would hurt her.

"When my son said he didn't want me to see Annie anymore it broke my heart and that's just not fair.

"I never imagined you would react so dramatically. I feel like I'm being treated like a child abuser.

"It also hurts that you apparently think I'm not entitled to any say over my granddaughter. It takes a village to raise a child.

"Once again, I didn't mean to upset you and hope we can move past this."
