‘It's a no from me’: Bizarre coat hanger ‘hack’ goes viral

The comments say it is 'tacky' but would you make one for your home?

Coat hangers are a necessary item for keeping clothes tidy and off the floor in the closet, but have you ever thought about why you might need one in the kitchen?

A dog mum and digital creator famed for hacks, crafts and cooking has divided the internet with her low budget paper towel and coat hanger hack.

Jacky of the 'Jacky Has Fun Show' Instagram account shared a short clip of her cutting the middle section from a plastic coat hanger with pliers so that she can use it to hold a roll of paper towel.

She then hangs the coat hanger and paper towel contraption from her oven and demonstrates how to tear off some of the paper for use.

"I wish I knew this sooner"

The fifteen second video is overlaid with the words ‘I wish I knew this sooner’ and an exploding head emoji. In the caption she writes: “Save space and money!” complete with a bunch of hashtags around saving money and having an organised kitchen.

While the short clip has been viewed over two and half million times, the comments section seems …confused.

Nearly four thousand people have taken the time to view and then air their thoughts on the matter. 

“Who wants a coat hanger hanging off their oven? Not me!” one person begins.

"It's a no from me," says another.

“From the appearance of your home finishings, it looks like you could go buy a $15 paper towel holder that won't make the kitchen look like it belongs on a pontoon houseboat made from milk jugs,” jokes someone else.

"What in the trailer park crap is this?"

With a third adding: “What in trailer park crap is this?” 

And plenty more comments then head in the same cheeky direction.

“What in the redneck-backwoods - hillbilly - hoe down - reincarnation of a paper towel holder is this? “

Jacky’s expensive looking kitchen seems to be a dead giveaway that all is perhaps not as it seems.

One user comments: “Really? You can’t afford a $15 paper towel holder with your $15,000 granite countertops?”

Another notices a different telling detail: “Got a double oven but has to use a hanger as a paper towel holder? Stop it!”

"Dollar tree sells these"

Baffled comments on Jacky’s coat hanger hack aside, the gist seems to be that paper towel holders are just not that expensive to purchase or even all that necessary.

“Dollar Tree has paper towel holders” one follower writes, followed by : “Ain’t nobody hanging that in their kitchen. I’ll spend the $7 to buy a classy looking one!”

Many suggested the only time this might be suitable is when holidaying in a tent or caravan or living in a student house.

“Maybe on a camping trip, but not in my kitchen. An attractive paper towel holder won't break the bank.”

Aside from the coat hanger 'hack', Jacky who confesses to using a ‘sprinkle of humor’ in her bio, shares a lot of budget meals and quick dessert hacks. 

While some dishes look delicious - especially the candy based sweet treats that kids will adore - many others are confusing, super unhealthy, undercooked or just a bit odd.

"Is it just for LOLS?"

The uncertainty causes some of her 173K followers to question if she is intentionally making things look a bit ‘meh’ for the LOLS or rage bait. 

In terms of the coat hanger hack - is it a genuine money saving kitchen idea, or a classic piece of comedy?
