A walk-in mini-bar, your very own bartender and a disco-lit dance floor – welcome to Australia’s first margarita-themed hotel room.

The famous Pink Hotel at Coolangatta on the Gold Coast has teamed up with acclaimed Mexican tequila brand Herradura to launch a one-of-a-kind accommodation offering based on the classic salt-rimmed cocktail and agave spirit.

The super fun studio suite takes over the hotel’s former secret piano bar, and has been completely made over with a “cosmic disco” meets “neon jungle” vibe, featuring a full-sized bar complete with shelves of tequila, fridges filled with mixers, cocktail making equipment and recipes, a large living area with a dance floor, record player and disco ball; plus a palm-trimmed bedroom lit by pink neons.

“Our most recent global campaign has been built on the theme ‘extraordinary awaits’ so we really wanted to bring that to life and find a hotel of equal extraordinary pedigree and we think The Pink Hotel is the perfect fit,” said Herradura senior brand manager Richard Dredge, with the GC venue loved for its wild retro and art-themed rooms.

The Herradura Hacienda room sleeps just two but can be used by up to six people for pre-drinks and a cocktail celebration, with the option to hire a bartender for an hour for an extra $100.

Or guests can simply make their own margaritas, with a 750ml bottle of Herradura Plata included in the room rate of $389 on weekdays and $489 on weekends.

“It’s really bringing the fun and the party to you,” Mr Dredge said.

“When you walk in the room it’s that feeling you have when you have your first margarita … it’s getting the party started and it lifts the vibe up,” Mr Dredge said.

For those who want to stay, they will need to book fast, with the full experience only available from May 14 to June 4.

Guests can book at The Pink Hotel website.
