A popular influencer, Carol Acosta, tragically died after reportedly choking on her dinner at a restaurant in front of her horrified family.
The 27-year-old mum-of-two, who went by the handle @Killadamente, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest before passing away in New York, according to her sister Khatyan.
“I love you sister and I will always love you,” the grief stricken sibling wrote alongside a selfie of the pair on Instagram.
“I give thanks to God for giving me a sister like you with your big heart. Rest in peace my sister.”
In a tearful video, she then thanked Ms Acosta’s nearly seven million fans for their support.
“Thank you also for supporting my sister while she was still alive,” she wrote.
Ms Acosta was set to become a mother for the third time before her sudden death on January 3.
She announced her pregnancy in July last year.
Her second child, Legend, was born in February last year, and her first child, Reina, is almost two years old.
A cousin shared that the family is still waiting for the results of a post-mortem examination, but they believe she suffered a cardiac arrest following the family meal.
She explained that at one moment, the mother was happily eating dinner before she suddenly started to “choke and have difficulty breathing”.
Moments later, she became overwhelmed and experienced what seemed to be an “attack of some kind”.
The family rushed her to the hospital, but unfortunately, doctors were unable to save her.
They later released a statement that said, “On January 3 our dear Carolar better known as Killadamente passed away.
“The Acosta Gonzalez family shares its pain with everyone who knew her.”
Ms Acosta moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic at the age of 12, where she faced bullying due to her weight.
However, the influencer transformed this hardship into humour and gained a massive following because of it.
In 2017, she released a song titled “Me Amo y No Me Importa,” which translates to “I Love Myself and I Don’t Care” in English.
Earlier this year, the cherished online personality revealed to her fans that she had decided to “embrace God and turn her back on drugs.”
In a poignant post, she wrote: “I repented, I died, I was born again. And my brothers and sisters I am now proudly free from sin.
“God forgave me and it feels so good to be free from the anxiety and depression that used to force me to take drugs and do things I didn’t want to do.”
Ever since her death, her fans have taken to her comment section with messages of condolences.
“May this goddess who never let herself be humiliated by anyone rest in peace,” one person wrote.
Someone else said: “A mother left us, because more than an influencer, she was a mother and I swear there is nothing harder than losing one of your parents.”
