The cost of living crisis has all of us scraping by and working harder to stretch our weekly pay cheques, which often means sacrificing life’s little luxuries.
But I may have just discovered a clever way to snag a discount – and it could not be easier.
Discount codes are so hot right now but finding the right ones that work for you can be a mission – Googling can be a time wasting nightmare while no one wants to join up to yet another loyalty club.
My trick? Using ChatGPT.
The generative AI tool proved to be an instant hit when it came down tracking discount codes for a wide variety of items, from technology to groceries, food and fashions.
I started off just simply asking “find me active discount codes for June 2025” and the results were as surprising as they were instant.
The AI had uncovered the code SAVE30 which would get me a $30 discount on liquor orders over $200 while another code, ENJOY10, which gets $10 off Click and Collect orders over $170 at Woolworths.
There were discount codes for online retailers like Amazon, holidays at Trip.com, flights with Jetstar and electronics with Samsung.
The discounts got even better when I narrowed down my search to just fashion retailers.
I could suddenly get 10 per cent off storewide at Ally Fashion with the code MISSYOU10, 10 per cent off designer clothing at The Outnet with the code AA10, and $25 off orders over $129 with the code VACATION25.
But be warned – it’s not always as simple as it seems.
Within seconds of asking for Lego store discount codes, the AI spat out a list of what appeared to be gems.
From 20 per cent off on all purchases to 15 per cent off select items, for such a popular site as the Lego store, it appeared too good to be true – and it was as none of the codes worked.
While this simple but effective hack isn’t guaranteed to work every time, when it does, it’s worth it.
After all, no one likes paying full price.
But just like with any offer online, you’ve got to approach with caution.
