Italian restaurant upgrade to high risk after Queensland COVID scare

Queensland officials have upgraded the risk status of a restaurant after a positive COVID-19 case visited it for three hours last weekend.

Close contact of Queensland COVID case tests positive

Queensland health officials have upgraded a venue visited by a positive case of COVID-19 to high risk after it was revealed the man spent almost three hours at an Italian restaurant on Sunday.

Queensland’s new coronavirus case visited a dozen Brisbane venues while infectious with the highly contagious UK strain.

A new positive case was recorded on Saturday, a close contact of the man.

Queensland Health upgraded Mamma’s Italian Restaurant at 69 Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe, given the man was there from 12.30pm to 3.10pm on Sunday.

“We have increased the directions around Mama’s Italian restaurant at Redcliffe, which now says if you have been there between those hours on (March) 21st that you should quarantine (self-isolate) for 14 days,” Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.

“Please check the website and make sure you aware of what the directions are.”
