To celebrate the spooky season, McDonald’s is bringing yet another iconic international item to Aussie shores.

Boo Buckets have been a Halloween staple in the US for decades, and as of tomorrow, you can finally get one for yourself.

Happy Meals get a Halloween makeover

Happy Meal Boo Buckets first launched globally almost 40 years ago. Eager Aussies who have been dying to pick one up for years are now in luck, with the collectables debuting Down Under just in time for Halloween.

The Boo Buckets give the traditional Macca’s Happy Meal a spooky makeover, with four designs to collect - white, orange, green and blue. The buckets feature frighteningly cute creatures, a sticker activity, and an iconic Golden Arches handle.

Not only are they a nostalgic must-have, but they also make for the perfect container for trick-or-treat hauls, come October 31.

"They might disappear quicker than you can say boo"

McDonald’s Australia announced the news this week, with excitement ahead for big and little kids alike to join in on all the fun, in the midst of a surge in Halloween festivities across the country.

“Over the decades our McDonald’s Boo Buckets have become one of our most loved Happy Meal collectibles, with last year’s selling out within days in the US,” Amanda Nakad, marketing director for McDonald’s Australia, said.

“With Halloween popularity on the rise in Australia, we’re excited to be introducing them for our Aussie customers, helping to create even more feel-good Halloween moments for families.

“They’re only available for a limited time and while stocks last, so head to your local Macca’s before they disappear quicker than you can say boo.”

Happy Meal Halloween Boo Buckets will be available at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, as well as via the MyMacca’s App and McDelivery. Diners can collect one of the four designs with the purchase of a Happy Meal from Thursday, October 17 to Wednesday, October 30.

Happy Meal Boo Buckets are the second launch from McDonald’s out of the US this month, with the world-famous Grimace Shake (and exclusive merchandise) making its way to Australia just a few weeks ago.
