An item that has been missing from Macca’s menus for three years has returned for just $2.50.
Madi Murphy was so excited after her favourite Macca’s item — ham and cheese pockets — returned to menus for the first time since 2021.
“Scored the goods. Oh my god, I think I’m gonna cry,” she said in the clip that has garnered more than half a million views.
“It looks really underwhelming but I promise you, you have to have a hashbrown with it.”
She put the snacks together, saying it had been years since she was able to enjoy this particular treat.
“They taste the same,” she declared.
Social media users had a huge reaction to the news.
“This is how I find out the ham and cheese pockets are back at Macca’s,” one person declared excitedly.
“How did you find out they were back? They aren’t on my Maccas app,” another added.
One begged: “Please tell me this is Australia. My biggest pregnancy craving and I haven’t been able to have it.”
“YOU JUST CHANGED MY DAMN LIFE,” another said.
A Macca’s spokesperson told news.com.au that the fan favourite has returned — but not for long.
“Macca’s is excited to have brought back one of its most popular breakfast Value offers for a limited time only – the Ham & Cheese Pocket,” the spokesperson said.
“These delectable delights feature oozing tasty, melted cheese with ham, wrapped in a warm toasted tortilla, making them the perfect affordable breakfast or snack on the go for just $2.50.
“The Ham & Cheese Pocket relaunched after last appearing on our menu in 2021 and is available from 4am to 11.30am across participating Macca’s restaurants nationwide via kiosk, front counter and drive thru, as well as the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery.”
It comes after the Golden Arches brought a long awaited treat Down Under — the Grimace Shake.
The lilac shake, a tribute to the iconic fictional character that featured in the original McDonald’s adverts alongside Ronald McDonald back in the 1960s, was launched alongside a Grimace Meal in the US back in July 2023.
After spotting the special beverage on social media, many Aussies declared they were keen to try the berry-flavoured concoction.
Last week, McDonald’s had good news for those keen to slurp on the colourful drink, with the burger giant telling news.com.au that the “rumours are true” – revealing the shake will be served up Down Under from Friday, October 4 for a limited time.
