A fast food chain war has broken out after social media users declared which viral product they liked better.

Earlier this week, Macca’s dropped a Biscoff range that included a Biscoff McFlurry. However, the product quickly raised eyebrows by fans of Biscoff.

Popular food content creator @nectoriouspapi was one of the first to try the Biscoff McFlurry, which features Biscoff cookie crumb, caramel sauce and ice cream.

“As you can see, there is no Biscoff topping. It’s caramel sauce,” he said.

Nectro dug in, saying he was initially disappointed that it was going to be caramel sauce and not Biscoff sauce.

“But this still works really well. The caramel sauce with the Biscoff biscuits and ice cream, it’s still so delicious,” he said.

“It’s really yum and works well together.”

Social media users had mixed reactions to the news.

“Mehhhhhhhhh. I make the best homemade Biscoff thick shake. But I’ll try the frappé. Don’t care for the McFlurry OK byeeeee,” one said.

Another commented: “It works, but it’s half a**ed. I’ll make my own!”

“How are you going to introduce a caramel sauce instead of Biscoff?” one said.

Many were quick to start comparing it to Hungry Jack’s Biscoff range, which includes Biscoff topping.

Popular food content creator RussEats compared the two ranges, ultimately deciding that the Hungry Jack’s one was his favourite.

“I’ve just realised there is no Biscoff spread or topping in any of these. This is the most p*ssweak launch in fast food history considering Hungry Jack’s has all of this but the topping as well,” Russ said.

He said the Macca’s Biscoff Shake was essentially a vanilla shake with biscuit crumbs in it, he said it tasted alright but “could get the same thing” for a cheaper price point at his local Hungry Jack’s.

He then tried the Macca’s Biscoff McFlurry with chocolate soft serve as that was all his local Macca’s had.

“You know what? That’s an eight out of 10 with the choccy. The caramel with the biscuit and the chocolate ice cream makes it taste like an Arnott’s Kingston. That’s delicious,” Russ said.

But the item he was most excited for — the Biscoff Coffee Frappe — was labelled the “disappointment of the year”. He said it was essentially the coffee frappé everyone know with bickies “mashed through it”.

“Hungry Jack’s wins in every single item here,” he said.

And, Hungry Jack’s has cashed in on the conversation, with the fast food restaurant taking to social media to share a meme that said: “We’re just a chill guy with our Biscoff Storm (with Biscoff topping obvs).”

Social media users had a huge reaction to the sassy post.

“The biscoff is better at Hungry Jack’s,” one said.

One added: “HJ in their Kendrick era.”

“Not just the burgers that are better at Hungry Jack’s,” another commented.

One added: “I’m not even gonna try the biscoff McFlurry I hate macca’s ice cream hungry’s has always had the best ice cream by far.”
