IT’S OFFICIAL – Paris Fashion Week has become a sheer fantasy, and is the must-have look for next year according to the Balmain catwalk.
Gigi Hadid took centre stage alongside fellow models Alessandra Ambrosio, Jourdan Dunn and Doutzen Kroes as they showed off the latest looks for the Spring/Summer 2017 collection for the fashion designer, The Sun reports.
The evening was presented by Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing and as the models took to the catwalk, it became obvious that bras will become a thing of the past by next season if the fashion moguls have their way.
Gigi, who has been named by Forbes as one of the top-earning models of 2016 at just 22 years old, glistened in a metallic dress with thick gold necklace and strappy silver belt.
Through the chain mail panel on the front revealed that a bra was not a necessity anymore – and it became a running theme throughout the rest of the catwalk’s creations.
Balmain chose a series of simple colours and made them chic – opting for cutaway panels in a lot of the options to tease the physique underneath.
The models had their hair slicked back and straight to prevent it detracting attention from the stars on the catwalk.
In another outfit worn by Gigi, the star wore a bronze jumpsuit with cutaway panels displaying her chest underneath, and a connected cloak that trained behind her.
Mayowa Nicholas’ breasts were on display in a plain black sheer top, with a floorlength multi-coloured striped skirt with a dangerously high thigh split to show off her legs.
The outfit was completed by a simple pair of high heeled sandals.
Sitting front row was Kim Kardashian, who wore her own take on the new sheer look with a tight-fitted mesh halterneck dress over a skin-coloured underwear set to give a nude illusion.
Taking attention away the models on the catwalk, the star’s chain-mail look perfectly showed off the curvy body that Kim has become known for.
Her sister Kourtney wore a similar material but chose to keep a little more covered up with a high neckline and long sleeves.
Former First lady of France Carla Bruni Sarkosy looked elegant in an all-black trouser suit, with a pop of colour being given by her salmon pink bad and gold buttons.
