After dozens of Queensland kids got a special Ekka preview at the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane on Wednesday, here’s our guide to all the best showbags in 2022. SEE THE LIST

There are more than 400 showbags on offer at this year’s Ekka, with prices ranging from just $2 all the way to a whopping $125.

Almost 30 kids got a sneak preview of what’s on offer at this year’s Royal Queensland Show on Wednesday as the Ekka gets set return after two years of cancellations due to Covid.

Frequent Ekka goer, Molly Knox, 11 said she was happy the Ekka was back but it was going to be tough choosing a showbag.

“I have no idea there’s so many amazing ones,” Molly said. “Probably a food one, I don’t know there’s so many options.”

RNA Chief Executive Brendan Christou said he can relate to the kids’ excitement having grown up in Brisbane choosing Ekka show bags out of The Courier-Mail newspaper when he was seven years old.

“We’ve got over 400 show bags this year which is unbelievable for us,” Mr Christou said.

“We’ve got everything from the $2 rainbow freeze bag right up to the Lindt chocolate bag, so there’s really something for every budget.”

Ranging in price from $2 to $125, this year’s Ekka will see the launch of 30 new bags including Sour Patch Kids, Bluey, My Little Pony, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, Chatime and Game of Thrones.

Mr Christou said they’re launching a very special pricing deal this year to help with the cost of living pressures.

From 7pm Wednesday until midnight on Sunday people can purchase Ekka tickets for 30 per cent off equity base.

“We’ve got Super Saver days which are already 20% off, this is a further 30% off so if you’re a family of four, a ticket that’s normally at $84 will come down to under $50,” he said.
