Brisbane’s ‘best event’ gets loud against domestic violence
It’s the fundraising spectacular that had it all – performers who’ve danced with Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, star singers and a $40,000 pearl necklace up for grabs.

Brisbane’s Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner described it as the best event City Hall has seen – and with a spectacular featuring back-up dancers for Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, some of Queensland’s hottest singers, and a $40,000 pearl necklace up for grabs, the sold-out event was all that and more.
The Let’s Get Loud extravaganza was organised by businesswoman Lorilie Cunningham ahead of the Dancing CEO event in May, and Mrs Cunningham, 62, dazzled the crowd with a glittering performance of her own.
The February 19 luncheon raised more than $65,000 for Women’s Legal Service, which supports women affected by domestic violence.
A-listers from Brisbane and the Gold Coast turned out including Kay McGrath, Daniella Winter, Di Cant, Samantha Ogilvie and Margot McKinney who donated the pearls snapped up at auction for $19,000 by Absolute Domestics’ founder Joy Vess.
Performers donating their time included Libby Munro, Charne, Matt Ward, Naomi Price, Aerial Angels, Justine Kase, Daryl Murphy and Global Dance Pro dancers who also modelled the new range from Brisbane fashion label Bonita Collective.
