Bridgerton fans left fuming after paying $300 for dodgy event

It was pretty clear it wasn't the extravagant ball they purchased pricey tickets for... and then the stripper came out. 

Remember when the Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow went viral for all the wrong reasons earlier this year? 

To refresh your memory, the event - which promised an enchanted garden and magical experiences - was so bad people called the cops.

Well, now die-hard Bridgerton fans are getting flashbacks of the pathetic event after forking out a stupid amount of money for a similar themed soiree.

This time with a Bridgerton theme. Or at least it was meant to be...

$300... for THIS?!

Fans of the hit Netflix series forked out $300 per person for a ticket to a Bridgerton-themed ball in Detroit only to discover the experience was far from what they were sold online. 

The event was advertised as an extravagant evening boasting "a night of dancing, live entertainment, exquisite refreshments, and enchanting surprises."

According to guests, they certainly got the "surprises" part right. 

The moment they stepped into the venue, fans were immediately aware that they had been sold a dud.

According to one person, who was (luckily) unable to attend after the event organisers had to reschedule the date from August to September, the evening was "disorganised" and organisers "dishonest."

"For starters, NEVER go to an event that’s being run by Uncle & Me LLC. Disorganised, dishonest, and will take your money guilt free," Rachel Eaton shared on X.  

How bad could it have possibly been, I hear you ask? 

"Well into the event, there was nothing to do. People were bored and just sat on their phones," Rachel shared online.

Fuming guests said the live orchestra music they were promised included a lone violin player, floral backdrops were in the form of paper printouts, and the food definitely wasn't the feast they were promised. 

"Food apparently ran out after an hour, and some was raw. No one was there to pick up plates, so you had to deal with strangers’ leftovers yourself," she added.  

But that wasn't the worst of it...

Care to dance, m'lady? 

When it was time for dancing, a stripper appeared to do a pole dancing routine in the middle of the dancefloor. 

Rachel said: "Besides the lackluster event itself, they promised a cash prize to the best dressed (didn’t happen), that they’d choose a diamond of the season like they do in the show/other Bridgerton inspired balls (didn’t happen), and had an itinerary with contradicting information."

People on social media were quick to comment on the thread, with many claiming the guests missed many "red flags" before purchasing tickets to the event. 

"Why would you ever trust this? Like the red flags are all over the thing," one person insisted. 

"Oh Fyre Festival flashbacks," another person commented. 

And another chimed in with: "This on you for falling for that."
