With freshly made pizza, parmigiana, burgers and of course hearty steaks, the Shafston hotel offers something for everyone. Pork ribs, creamy carbonara, or eggplant melanzine are also on offer as some of the mains, as well as four different options of parmigianas.

With four different restaurants and an iconic location under Brisbane’s most recognisable bridge, the Story Bridge Hotel does not disappoint. Deery’s Restaurant offers steaks, share plates, a wide range of mains including Duck Leg Confit, Moreton Bay bugs and Borrodale pork cutlets, while the Outback Bar & Grill offers a laid-back beer garden environment. The Shelter Bar, built from the remnants of an old WWII bomb shelter, has a menu that includes signature pies, salads, pizzas, steaks and the classic bangers and mash.

Another popular one among readers, the Glen Hotel offers casual after work drinks at either Lily Restaurant (dubbed the hidden gem within the hotel) or Alphonsus Pizza (the heart of the hotel). You can watch the pizzailoli making your pizzas from scratch before they are cooked in a stone wood fired pizza oven that travelled all the way from Naples, Italy.

With new owner Nicki Cedergren celebrating her one-year anniversary as owner of the infamous hotel, the chefs are reportedly continuing to try trial new dishes with the bistro offering more refined food and dining. Other favourites include crispy ham hock and dill and gin cured salmon, chicken parmi and crumbed fish and chips. Ms Cedergren said the restaurant has ‘something for everyone’.
