After an intense week of voting in The Courier-Mail’s latest Best of Brisbane campaign, Brisbane’s best electrician for 2023 has been decided.
In the final 48 hours the competition went down to the wire, with only a few votes separating first and second place.
But with only 12 hours left, one competitor bolted ahead of the competition and took the lead, ultimately taking the Best of Brisbane crown.
The results are now in, with an assortment of talented sparkies to electrical experts making the list.

10. Goodfellows Electrical
Describing Goodfellows Electrical as a “true family business”, David Goodfellow has passed his 40 years of industry knowledge on to his sons, Reeza and Adam. Treating customers as family is essential to the business.
“To all the Courier-Mail readers and fans who voted for us, we greatly appreciate this show of support,” a spokesman for the business said.
“We don’t take lightly at all the trust that you have placed in us when you invite us into your homes, your businesses and when you recommend us to friends and family.
“We hope and plan to continue serving the people of this great city for a very long time.”
9. Zig Energy
With a focus on quality of work and customer service, Zig Energy has a goal to bring every room to life.
“Zig Energy is a small family business that just recently welcomed a brand new addition to the family and future sparky team. Zach the owner also believes there isn’t a room that doesn’t need a touch of premium LED lighting and he sure knows how to bring any room to life,” a spokesman for the business said.
8. Value Air & Electrical Pty Ltd
With more than 115 five-star reviews on Google, Value Air & Electrical Pty Ltd prides itself on providing “high quality services at honest prices.”
7. Fleming & Sons Electrical
As family-owned and operated business, Fleming & Sons Electrical is dedicated to giving customers a “wonderful” experience.
“We are so grateful to everyone who has given us an opportunity to carry out their electrical works, and also those who have encouraged us on this three year journey,” a spokesman for the business said.
6. Foss Electrical
With the motto of “no job too small”, Foss Electrical always strives to deliver the best service available.
“We specialise in real estate and service works. From small jobs like changing a switch to upgrading a whole switchboard, to even airconditioning,” a spokesman for the business said.
“Thank you to all that voted for us. It’s great to see that all the hard work, from our tradesman to our office staff, is being recognised.”
5. Filewood Electrical
When asked about what sets their business apart from the competition, a spokesman for Filewood Electrical said their primary focus was to “establish a foundation of complete honesty and mutual understanding”.
“We always put customers first, arrive on time and deliver first class electrical work. Contact us today to experience industry leading customer service,” the spokesman said.
“Thank you to those who voted for Filewood Electrical. It is humbling to have been in the running with some amazing electrical companies, some of which I have looked up to for years.
“We are extremely grateful for the consideration and will continue to provide high quality electrical work around Brisbane.”
4. JD Lighting Electrical
JD Lighting, a lighting and ceiling fan retailer in Brisbane, is able to support clients through every stage, including design, import, supply and installation.
“JD Lighting Electrical is operated by electricians with over 32 years’ experience in the retail lighting space,” a spokesman for the business said.
“We would like to extend a thank you to all the fans (three-blade, four-blade and remote-controlled), clients, family, friends and all of those that voted for us, your support is truly electric! We’re seriously buzzing to have been nominated by you all; through your continued support over the years, you have helped us amp up JD Lighting Electrical and spark some light into every home and business we touch.”
3. Zilco Electrical
As a relatively new business, owner Brayden Zillman believes Zilco Electrical is representative of the “next generation of electrical contractors”. Zilco Electrical focuses on delivering creative lighting concepts and providing high-end finishes.
“A massive thank you goes out to everyone who voted for Zilco Electrical,” Mr Zillman said. “As a people focused business, we wouldn’t be in this position without you guys. From clients and family, to any new clients who might see this, Brayden and the team from Zilco Electrical can’t thank you guys enough for the ongoing support.”
2. Central Electrical and Data Pty Ltd
With the business now celebrating their 10-year anniversary, Central Electrical and Data Pty Ltd is run by a small team.
“Thank you to everyone who voted, we are very humbled to be nominated and receive enough votes to put us in the top 10,” a spokeswoman for the business said.
“It is a massive testament to our team that have a passion and love for what they do and its great Brisbane has acknowledged this.”
1. Mussi Electrical
Mussi Electrical managing director Massimo Guida said he was “humbled” when told of his first place win.
“I am certainly not someone to make a fuss or want accolades, but it was extremely humbling to hear the news. It makes all the years working non-stop seven days feel worth it, and nice to know my customers appreciate the efforts to take the time to vote for me,” he said.
With a childhood obsession of all things electrical, Mr Guida started an electrical apprenticeship before opening his own business.
“It’s hard to say what sets me apart, as everyone on the list is worthy of this title, and no doubt been dealing with the same factors that have been affecting the construction industry since Covid,” he said.
“My customers tell me I have an infectious smile, I’m reliable and easy to deal with. They also know if a job needs to be done quickly, me and my team will do whatever it takes to meet their deadline and expectation.
“I’ve always done my best to keep my clients happy.”
Mr Guida said he tried to give back to the community as much as possible.
“I’ve been an electrician most my life, but I certainty like to dive in other areas of business,” he said.
“I’m a Dancing CEO 2023 for Women’s Legal Service Queensland.
“I’ll be hitting the dancefloor in May to raise vital funds to help women and children at risk of domestic and family violence.”
Grateful for the win, Mr Guida said there are countless people to thank.
“To all my customers, especially ones that have been with me since the beginning, I am so thankful for your vote,” he said.
“I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without the love and support of my beautiful wife & two children so I’m able to work as much as I do.
“Of course, this title also goes to all my loyal and hardworking employees.”
