We put the call out to our readers to nominate Brisbane’s best mechanic and after hundreds of responses we narrowed the list down to a group of finalists. We can now reveal, as voted by our readers, Brisbane’s best mechanic, 2023!

1. Weber Automotive

Starting with just 20 customers in 2014, Weber Automotive has now transformed into a thriving workshop with over 2,000 customers. “We are constantly overwhelmed by the support that we receive from our customers and the local community, where we are now at the point in our business that we do not need to advertise,” Sharon Weber said.

Making a commitment to support the local community in as many ways as possible, Ms Weber said they now offer multiple services to help the community ranging from helping with book lists, delivering Easter eggs, providing showbags and giving away Christmas hampers.

“Our business also supports local sporting clubs, school chaplaincy and local community groups with their fundraising events,” she said.

“By engaging in these offerings of support, it has given us a purpose to come to work each day other than coming to pay the bills.

“We are so thankful to everyone that has been involved in our journey since opening our business nine years ago. It really does take a community to build a business and we have an awesome community.”

2. EZ Prestige

Describing the business as Brisbane’s “quickest growing workshop,” after hiring seven ten additional employees in the past year, a spokesperson from the family-run workshop said they are able to work on all makes and models.

“We are a one stop mechanical shop and pride ourselves in being able to work on all makes and models with ease and understanding and have mechanics that also specialise in particular makes and models,” they said.

3. The Service Depot Pty Ltd

The family owned-and-run mechanical business has been described as providing “first class service” by loyal customers. The team prides itself on ensuring everything is done correctly from the start.

“Our aim is to make sure we get it right the first time so you can rest assured that your car is in good hands,” a statement on their website read.

4. VAS Mechanical

Run by a husband and wife team, as well as a fluffy mascot, Lola the dog, VAS Mechanical specialises in commercial and passenger vehicles under the Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda umbrella.

“We decided to establish VAS Mechanical in 2020 to service the western suburbs of Brisbane and Ipswich,” Kerryn Thomas said.

“We’re proud to have the capacity and knowledge to assist with everything from replacing a fuse, to rebuilding an engine, providing our customers with the opportunity to choose an independent specialist in their local area for all their mechanical repair and diagnostic requirements.

5. Aztech Automotive

After providing quality service to their clients for more than 10 years, mechanics working within the business are described as “old school mechanics for the new age cars.” on social media.

“We have been nominated for many small business awards and won the best mechanic North Brisbane 2022,” Abbey Henri said.

“We love supporting our local community by sponsoring local sporting groups and race car vehicles.”

6. Steve Sorensen Mechanical

Described as a mechanic with a focus on providing “top quality work at a reasonable price,” one customer said they are “number one in our books.”

Servicing the majority of cars, 4WDs and light commercial vehicles, the business only uses parts and lubricants that either meet or exceed the OEM standards.

7. VMech Automotive

Striving to exceed customer expectations, Kristen Vanderzalm said they have an unwavering commitment to providing a “wonderful” service.

Placing importance on a high level of attention to detail, a spokesperson from Pearson Automotive said the business is a “well-established and reputable automotive service centre,” they said.

“We prioritise customer satisfaction and strive to provide excellent service at competitive prices.

“We offer loan cars and local pick-up and delivery and look after anything from mum and dads to majors fleet companies.”

10. Hanos Car Care

After 20 years in the local area and community, Hanos Car Care promises to “recommend the best products and services to have your car up and running in no time,” a statement on their website read.

Providing free regular battery tests, the business is also a RACQ approved workshop.
