We put the call out to our readers to nominate Brisbane’s best dog groomer and after hundreds of responses we narrowed the list down to a group of finalists. We can now reveal, as voted by our readers, Brisbane’s best dog groomer, 2023!
1. La Casa De Pooch

After winning the title of Brisbane’s best in 2020 and 2021, La Casa De Pooch has been named Brisbane’s best dog groomer in 2023.
“We’re absolutely thrilled, thank you for this incredible honour,” CEO James Bennett said.
“Many of our groomers are award winners, a testament to their expertise, and they all take great pride in delivering exceptional service. We are committed to ensuring that every pet receives the individualised care and attention they deserve, and we take immense pride in being considered one of Brisbane’s best groomers.”
Mr Bennett said the goal of each session is to ensure each animal leaves looking their absolute best.
“Whether it’s a breed specific trim, Asian Fusion, desheds, hand stripping, teddy bear style, creative grooming or just a cute little hair cut for their fur baby. We will always make sure they leave looking fabulous,” he said.
2. Mr Potts Dog Grooming

Located in the heart of Albion, Mr Potts specialises in creating teddy bear style cuts.

3. Cheeky Chops Pet Grooming

Offering services to both dogs and cats, Cheeky Chops Pet Grooming is run by owner Sarah Bunt.
“I work one-on-one with my clients and ensure every pet is loved,” she said.
“I want every pet to feel safe and enjoy their pamper session. I have attended several seminars and placed highly in many grooming competitions and I take care of other people’s pets as if they were my own.”
4. The Trusty Dog Wash

Grooming dogs up to 130kg, the business specialises in deshedding and double-coats. Owner Mitchell Cox said the family-run business provides “simple, no-fuss grooms.”
“Relationships are vital to our business. We aim to maintain happy and trusting relationships between our dogs, dog-parents and groomers,” he said.

With a focus on pampering pooches, the Pooch Avenue team provides a luxury spa experience for all canine visitors.
“Over the years the ladies have perfected the art of pampering pooches. From traditional breed clips to creative colour and upgraded spa treatments to leave the humans begging for a pamper too,” a spokeswoman said.
“For the ladies at Pooch Avenue, dogs are a huge part of their lives. It’s not just a job, it is their passion.”

8. CC’s Pampered Pups

With a focus on customer service, dogs remain with one staff member throughout the grooming session to minimise stress for the animals.
“Our unique business model ensures that each dog remains with the same groomer from start to finish, creating genuine care and high quality results,” owner Cecilia Clare Schalken said.
“Over the years we have participated in numerous fundraisers, channelling our efforts towards supporting causes that make a positive impact.”

Owner Sophia Lloyd-Hansen offers a one-on-one service to her clients. After working as a groomer for four years, Ms Lloyd-Hansen made the move to open her own salon just 12 months ago.
“I’m always trying to better my skills and often compete in grooming competitions around the country,” she said.
“I particularly love Asian fusion and Poodle cuts. In my spare time I show British bulldogs, Xoloitzcuintle’s and poodles.”
10. Shear Designz Canine Stylists

Now in its 22nd year of operation, Shear Designz Canine Stylists hosts a range of award-winning stylists. Owner Maneah Eberbach said the family-run business offers grooming sessions for all dogs breeds.
“We pride ourselves on our love for dogs and the joy we get to bring to their owners. We are proudly an all breeds salon, specialising in grooming purebred dogs to their breed standard styles,” she said.
“While we adore all dogs and all breeds, Gundogs and Terriers certainly have a special home within our salon.”
