1/235 Zillmere Rd, Zillmere
Instagram: @banhmifactory
What originally started as just a market stall at Eagle Farm and then Carseldine Markets has grown into one of the most beloved Vietnamese restaurants in all of Brisbane.
Banh Mi Factory’s Lisa Pham says her family’s business saw a gap in the market for good Vietnamese eateries in Brisbane’s Northside compared to the south.
“Our vision was to create the best tasting Vietnamese street food in Brisbane, delivered fresh and fast, which is still our motivation to this day,” Lisa Pham says.
“In the last 10 months since we first opened this store, our popularity has been driven by word of mouth from the local community and by having the ethos of delivering fresh, made-to-order Vietnamese food, done fast,” she says.
Zillmere was the perfect place to home the Banh Mi Factory headquarters with customers travelling from all ends of the city to get a bite of some of the best banh mi in Brisbane.
“It has been a culinary awakening for our Northside customers, many of whom told us that they don’t have to drive to Inala for good Vietnamese food anymore,” the Banh Mi Factory owner says.
Customers don’t just love their crunchy Banh Mis but their tasty and spring rolls, fresh noodle salads and rice paper rolls as well. Their rich and comforting 24-hour beef phos are also a popular hit with our customers.
“We believe that using the freshest ingredients as well as being able to balance the flavour of sweet, sour and salty is the secret weapon to great Vietnamese food,”

Some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes include the Ngon signature pho, Vietnamese yellow curry duck, sizzling beef hotplate, and their twice cooked pork belly
The creator of Ngon Tuan Nguyen says if you haven’t been lucky enough to try Vietnamese cuisine, what you order will depend on the menu but he recommends the classics.
“A nice bowl of ‘pho’ beef noodle soup or a vermicelli combination salad bowl with a side of rice paper rolls washed down with a Vietnamese ice coffee,” Tuan Ngyuyen says.
“But if you haven’t had Vietnamese food, where have you been living?” he laughs.
Vietnamese cuisine is fun and fresh but also packs a mouthful of flavour. There are lots of exciting and different flavours in each dish and that’s exactly what you’ll find if you dine at Ngon.
