Everyone can sigh in relief because Roxy Jacenko is back doing what she was born to do.
The 44-year-old who ruled Sydney’s socialites and WAGs with a little black book has announced her return to PR.
On Instagram, Ms Jacenko said she was back after announcing in November 2022 that she was closing down her iconic PR business, Sweaty Betty.
“Must have been a midlife crisis. Today I’m back, and oh, it is like the old days,” she wrote.
Ms Jacenko confirmed to news.com.au that this wasn’t a drill.
“Thrilled to be back doing what I know and love,” she said.
Ms Jacenko, who was at the forefront of Sydney’s social scene in the early 2000s, usually with a perfect manicure and no brunette roots showing, is making her grand return.
During her tenure as Sydney’s PR Queen, she was often seen wandering around the affluent eastern suburbs in activewear, looking busy.
The PR Queen has been notably absent from Australia since 2023, when she left to live in Singapore with her partner, Oliver Curtis and their children, Pixie, 13, and Hunter, 10.
Ms Jacenko was experiencing a period of change; she even announced that her daughter Pixie would be semi-retiring in February 2023.
Ms Jacenko, who isn’t just Pixie’s mum but also her manager and helped her amass a bow and fidget-selling empire, announced that Pixie was ready to focus on her studies.
“Pixie has decided to hang her online toy store shoes up to focus on her impending entry into high school,” she told news.com.au
So, not only did Jacenko flee the country, but she also announced that her daughter was stepping back from the spotlight.
For a moment there, things were seeming dire, but thankfully she did continue to jet back to Sydney because she wasn’t prepared to let a little something like moving countries get in the way of her standard hairdresser appointment.
Since turning her back on PR, Ms Jacenko has continued to maintain her relevancy.
Ms Jacenko made headlines earlier this year, when she announced she was backing out of a controversial multimillion-dollar home competition run by a company called Roxy’s Bootcamp.
She uploaded an apologetic late night video about the failed venture where, almost in tears, she said she was backing away from an already controversial $10 million competition she was the figurehead for.
“I’m sorry,” Jacenko said on Instagram.
“I am exhausted ... and I’m embarrassed.
“I’ve done everything that I can and I will leave it now.”
In the eight minute video, Jacenko, 43, repeatedly remarked on her weight as being impacted by stress from the “Roxy’s Bootcamp” promotion, which launched in March.
Ms Jacenko pulled out of the business amid a falling out with her business partners.
Then, an ASIC notice revealed that Andrew Blundell and Simon Cathro of restructuring firm Cathro Partners had taken over the business.
She made waves again in July when she was spotted living her absolute best life on a yacht in Europe with her young family, and now, she’s finally returning to PR.
Interestingly, Jacenko confirmed to news.com.au that she wouldn’t be returning to Sydney full-time yet.
Instead, she’ll continue to commute between Singapore and Australia, as one does, but who cares where she lives as long as she’s back doing public relations.
