Aussie mum's $15 Kmart dupe of popular $109 Oodie sends shoppers into a frenzy

A mum has taken to a popular Kmart Facebook group to let other shoppers in on a much-appreciated secret ahead of chillier months... who are we kidding, it's already freezing! 🥶🧊

That's why fans went crazy when mum, Amy, told them that Kmart is currently selling a $15 dupe for the popular $109 Oodie.

Imagine all the warmth, softness and snugness of the coveted oversized hoodie, but for a fraction of the price.

Are you sold yet? Same. But, don't go racing to Kmart just yet, because you'll probably have a hard time finding it.

'It still has a huge amount of room around me'

Taking to the Kmart Hacks and Decor Facebook Group Amy let fellow fans in on the Oodie dupe she and her partner are currently loving.

"These kids' ponchos fit me and my partner (both adults) and are a score for $15 right now."

She then shared a photo of herself in the Kmart Kids' Poncho which she bought in a large (it also comes in small and medium).

Despite it being intended for kids, its oversized design means it still fits her perfectly. She even said, "It still has a huge amount of room around me."

Amy added that she found her Oodie "too heavy" at times, so the Kmart poncho offers a lightweight alternative, while still providing all the cosy vibes.

While it might not be made with the toasty-warm Sherpa fleece of the original Oodie, according to reviews on the website, people think it's still "warm", "ultra comfortable" and "super soft."

Amy also mentioned that she and her partner love that the sleeves aren't as long as the Oodies', meaning they're more practical and they don't get in the way when her partner is gaming.

'I'll get these for the kids but then just steal them'

Budget-loving mums couldn't help but show their enthusiasm to snag one of the ponchos, however, they need to get in quick as it looks like they are currently on clearance! Some shoppers even reported seeing them in their local stores marked down to as little as $5!

"Love this so much, racing to Kmart now to get these before winter," one person said. Someone else joked, "I'll get these 'for the kids' but then just steal them hahahah."

Another remarked: "Love this! My Oodie is sooo heavy on my little frame and the hoodie gives me a neck ache if I have it on too long. This will be perfect, thank you!"

"These look great, I don't like the elastic in the Oodie sleeves, so these ponchos look way better," a different member wrote.

"They are so good. I got one after trying my daughter's on. Managed to get the last baby Yoda one in our store," another happy customer wrote.

"I got the camouflage one for my husband because he's also a gamer and it was perfect for him," added a second.

And a third wrote, "These are amazing to put on after swimming or camping."
