Sarah Macdonald is an English teacher who runs a children's Literacy Business called Canine Comprehension. They use Animal Assisted Therapy dogs to assist in the learning process. By using a canine friendly face, children are motivated to read aloud to the dogs without the embarrassment of making mistakes. They are running a free ANZAC Day Event in conjunction with a local Business in The Basin Rainy Day Books. In an effort to inspire kids to read, and on this day, read stories about our past servicemen, Canine Comprehension will be running reading sessions, where kids can snuggle up to the dogs and hear stories about our diggers and their special service dogs. COUNTRY LIVING: Junior Jockey, Harry CoffeyHarry Coffey, a 19-year-old from Swan Hill who is a member of one of VictoriaÕs oldest and well-known racing families. He is an apprentice and has ridden more than 180 winners since making his debut in 2011. He is apprenticed to his father Austy Coffey but also has a strong association with the stateÕs leading trainer, Darren Weir. What makes HarryÕs story unique is that he has become one of our best apprentice jockeys while battling Cystic Fibrosis.
