Abbie Chatfield vowed she'd never talk about who she's dating, but in a new episode of her podcast, has revealed she's in the midst of a rocky breakup. 

Abbie Chatfield is officially in her breakup era, after revealing she’s split with her secret partner in a new post on Instagram. 

The podcaster and TV host has been deliberately quiet about her dating life since her last public relationship – with Konrad Bień-Stephen – ended in September 2022. But in the caption of the post revealed “I know my rule is to not talk about anyone I’m dating but I had cried on the drive into the podcast this day so needed to vent.

“Listen whenever you get your pods about how this breakup is going!! (Not well)”

The reel, posted earlier this morning, shows Chatfield in the studio with the producers of her It’s A Lot podcast, where she admitted she’s going through a breakup, and is “really, really sad.” 

“A hot tip to anyone in life, in general, don’t date anyone that you can look up interviews of them on YouTube,” she said. 

“Because, what happens, when you break up, is you watch interviews of them in the background because you miss them. And you go ‘Ooo! Love that’. Love that you are in my house in my head.” 

When asked by her co-creative producer Oscar Gordon how she’s feeling, Chatfield replied that she’s “just really sad.” 

“I’ve just been crying every day,” she said. “I’m also in the phase of the breakup where you’re like ‘Oh like I’m never going to love anyone ever again’.” 

“This would be tolerable if I could call you all the time like I used to be able to but now I can’t,” she continued. 

“I haven’t cared about a breakup properly in like five years,” she laughed. “Sorry to anyone I’ve dated in the last five years, but like, I haven’t cried about a breakup or been missing someone this much in a very long time.

“Like a very, very long time.” 

While that may be a bit of a slight to Bień-Stephen, five years ago Chatfield was in her debut season of The Bachelor, where she came the runner up, losing out on a romantic relationship in the ‘real world’ with Matt Agnew. 

While devastated at the time (and battling with a villain edit and the alleged bullying she faced inside the Bachelor mansion), Chatfield revealed in one of the live shows on her Trauma Dump tour last May that she and Agnew are “very good friends now. We love Matt so much.” 

As for her current split, Chatfield also revealed that “It’s a thing where we might get back together, which is the worst kind of [breakup].” 

As anyone who’s been through a breakup will know, they’re unpleasant in any way shape and form – so we’re wishing Chatfield privacy and space to heal, and hope she’s back to feeling herself soon.
