What men think about has been exposed, depending on who you ask.

There’s a new trend taking over TikTok where women ask men how often they think about the fall of the Roman Empire, and if the results are to be believed … it is often.

The wild trend features hundreds of TikToks of men admitting they think about the Roman Empire weekly, daily, and even monthly, and it has amassed millions of views on TikTok.

It turns out men aren’t thinking about sports, sex, politics or even bills — they all pale in comparison to one big moment in history.

If you have complete faith in the social media platform, then you’d be led to believe it is a hot topic constantly rattling around in men’s brains.

One creator took the trend to the next level and texted all the men in her life to get to the bottom of the question.

It was some Tracy Grimshaw-style investigating that I think we can all appreciate.

“How often do you think about the Roman Empire?” She texted.

“Maybe just twice a day,” one replied.

“At least weekly,” another admitted.

“Like once a month,” one texted back.

“I was listening to a podcast about it this morning,” another revealed.

See? It is a thing.

Aussie Influencer Jade Tunchy scored over two million views on TikTok by asking her husband Lachie Brycki how often he thinks about the historic moment.

She shared on TikTok that before she quizzed him, she thought it was just a “large-scale prank” and was shocked to find out that he did think about it.

He admitted he thinks about it “definitely weekly” and then asked her why she found that so “funny.”

See? The men can’t get enough.

What makes the trend so humorous is that the men being asked often seem surprised by the question but then, on reflection, admit they do think about it regularly.

Naturally, there are now people questioning the trend. Has it become such a widely known question that men are just lying and saying they think about it now?

It also needs to be considered that if someone asked you if you think about the Roman Empire, you might want to appear intelligent and say “yes”.

Yet despite the concerns raised, the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down. It is rising like souffle on MasterChef.

So what about women?

What is the female equivalent is of the Roman Empire? Well, the jury is still out on the answer.

One female creator declared it was “kidnapping.”

Another said it was “vampires”, which I think speaks to the grip that Stephanie Myers’s Twilight still has on pop culture years later.

Someone else shared they thought it was “Taylor Swift”.

One TikTok claimed it was Tom Holland performing Rihanna’s Umbrella during a lip sync battle and that theory went viral.

Someone else theorised that all women think about Princess Diana’s life constantly. Yet interestingly, no clear theme has emerged when discussing the female version.

Perhaps what this whole trend has revealed is that all men think the same.
