$25 Kmart item making shoppers ‘double take’
A $25 product sold at the budget store has left scratching their heads, with many convinced it should actually be something else entirely.

One woman is convinced that a skirt from a popular retail giant should be a dress – and she isn’t the only one.
Chantelle, who goes by @oliveandmilesco online, took to TikTok to share her feelings on Kmart’s $25 button-through maxi skirt.
“When I was at Kmart the other day, I did a real quick walk-through of the clothing section to see if I could find something to wear for Christmas Day – and if I didn’t, oh well,” she told her followers.

“Anyway, I did the old double take and I thought, ‘What’s that? What a cute dress.’
“Then I thought, ‘Wait, is it a dress?’ So I checked the tag and it said it was a skirt.
“Looked in the mirror, held it up and I decided it was totally a dress. I was so confused as to why it was saying it was a skirt.”
The skirt is in a brown check material featuring a shirred yolk which falls over the hips before a gathered skirt falls to a mid-calf length.
Similar to strapless dresses which feature similar shirring over the bust, people online could understand Chantelle’s confusion.
She bought the item, and when she got home she decided to wear it as a dress, styling it with a belt just under her bust.
Social media users were inclined to agree with Chantelle’s approach to the clothing item.
“As soon as you said this, I knew exactly what you were talking about,” one social media user commented. “And it looks fab as a dress.”
Another said: “I also bought this thinking it was a dress.”
One wrote: “It’s a two for one.”
Meanwhile a woman revealed how she wore it as a skirt but styled it so it suited her better.
“I’ve got the same one,” the woman said.
“I roll the band down to make the waist band smaller and wear it as a skirt.”
