The tourism sector is rejoicing at the news Queensland will throw open its borders to five NSW shires, meaning 152,000 southerners can now enter that state, saying it’s a welcome first step and that the we’re “certainly a long way ahead of other parts of the world”.

Restrictions could ease as key decision looms

Queenslanders in the state’s southeast could soon be allowed to have more that 10 people at their homes, with a decision on an easing of restrictions due as early as Thursday. It comes as aged care restrictions could also be eased thanks to promising community transmission figures.
