QR manager faces sex on the job inquiry

A QUEENSLAND Rail manager has been stood down for allegedly having sex in his busy station office during work hours.

A QUEENSLAND Rail manager has been stood down for allegedly having sex in his busy station office during work hours.

The manager is also the subject of an investigation being overseen by the Crime and Misconduct Commission, into the alleged misuse of his work vehicle.

A female colleague is believed to have blown the whistle on the manager after "falling out" with the man in question.

The Courier-Mail understands the manager was having sex with his personal assistant during work hours but had also made advances to other female staff.

Colleagues were concerned the women who participated in his alleged office sex romps were receiving preferential treatment ahead of those who did not.

An officer who contacted The Courier-Mail said morale among staff had hit "rock bottom" before the action was taken.

"It's been very frustrating to see what he's got away with," said the source, who did not want to be named.

The manager has now been excluded from the workplace, on full pay, while the investigation into his use of work vehicles for personal matters takes place.

The CMC confirmed it had received a complaint regarding Queensland Rail employees and was now overseeing an investigation.

"Allegations of official misconduct raised in the complaint have been referred to Queensland Rail to deal with," a CMC spokeswoman said. "The CMC is currently awaiting the outcome advice from Queensland Rail."

A Queensland Rail spokesman said they treated all allegations of misconduct very seriously.

"Any allegation of official misconduct is investigated in conjunction with the CMC," the QR spokesman said.

"In certain circumstances it may be appropriate to exclude an employee from the workplace while allegations are investigated and for the employee to be paid while this occurs."

He said it would be inappropriate to comment further in relation to the particular matter while it was under investigation.
