What your activewear brand and gym fit secretly says about you? High-performing athlete or pilates princesses, this is what we think.

Are you a pilates princesses or a hybrid-athlete? Do you wear hoodies and track pants to the gym, or prefer shorts?

There are a few main players in the activewear game in Australia. Lorna Jane, Lulu Lemon, CSB, LSKD, Rockwear, Echt and some UK brands breaking into the market.

What ever you chose to get your sweat on in, here’s what your choice says about you:

Oversized Tee

Stylish, probably is wearing a necklace and a hat. You’re also probably strong, like where did all the plates go in the gym strong.

Stringer Tops

Please stop.

Compression Tee

Probably have a few thousand Instagram followers. Spends their time on the phone between sets and wears either air pods or noise cancelling headphones.

The Classic Hoodie

Probably super ripped, doesn’t talk to anyone but is super friendly if you need a spot. Seems to be at the gym 24/7, has several types of pre-work out. Someone might’ve also recently hurt you, I am sorry bro.

Converse Shoes

Do not look at them, or talk to them.

Basketball shirt

Goes to the gym with a mate, super friendly. Probably doesn’t stick to a plan and played sports in high school or still does.

New Balance 9060

Probably has a new active wear set already coming in the post. Social, and is probably in a run club.

As for the brands, we dived into a little more, this is what we think your favourite brand says about you.

ALO YOGA:

Founded in Los Angeles in 2007, the brand is all class and associated with supermodels like Gigi Hadid and Jenner sisters. Alo Yoga is the go-to brand for celebrities running their day-to-day errands and attending yoga classes.

Despite the branding name, it does not just specialise in yoga pants. Style for men and woman for cardio, barre, pilates and running.

Alo Yoga personality: Disposable income or willing to fork out to wear the same fit as Gigi Hadid. Alo wearers are fit, healthy, and stylish: "It" girl energy. The styles give clean girl look and provides more coverage and sleek looks. Understands the value of training core. Likely to be found on the tennis courts, shopping along James Street and will never say no to a spa day.

Price range: $65 to $1,000

CSB:

The Australian “that girl”, pilates but can also lift heavy and will always end her session with 30 minutes on the treadmill. (If you know, you know). Most recently Rita Ora was snapped wearing a set red CSB set after a pilates class in Sydney.

CSB launched in 2019 and has fast become a staple in Gyms across Australia, with 750k followers on Instagram owned by fitness influencer Rachel Dillon.

Crop Shop Boutique has a number of different ranges, depending on what sort of compression and fabric. The CSB community ranges from mums to athletes, there is a space for everyone to feel confident in a matching set.

The brand covers weight training, running, pilates, HIIT, yoga as well as leisure styles.

CSB personality: Clean girl aesthetic, pilates princesses era or is hitting the gym 4 to 5 days a week. Gym playlist is the entire Tate Mccare “so close to what” album. They’re driven, motivated, and often goal-oriented, with a strong focus on personal wellness and fitness.

Currently planning your first half marathon or Hyrox. On a rest days, wearing a matching set, at the markets looking for a matcha.

Price range: $50 to $120

LSKD

The Australian owned brand is for any fitness journey, short for ‘loose kid’ is the balance between high-performance activewear and street wear with a range of gym accessories. Fusion full-length leggings are a staple.

LSKD personality: Planning your next marathon and Hyrox, or probably a Cross-Fit athlete. Owns either a road bike, $200 pair of running shoes and Oakley sunglasses. House music or Rufus Du Sol is on the gym playlist. Spends the weekend sending kudos on Strava and runs a half marathon before 8am on a Sunday. Most likely works in the fitness industry, never misses a training session. When not in the gym can be found in a hot or cold plunge.

Dfyne:

The brand has its own DNA and does not let anybody “Dfyne” them. Multiple collections Defy, Ignite and Impact that tend to sell out. Most suited to functional training in the Gym.

The brand had international and Australian “athletes” repping the brand.

Dyne personality: Confident, dedicated and consistent. Started training to grow the glutes but will never miss a back day. If she wearing a matching Dfyne gym set, she spends a lot of her time in the gym. Currently listening to Revolving Door by Tate McRae with a oxyshred in hand. Bold colours and not afraid of lifting a 5kg weight in the free weight section of the gym but will also bust out a 100kg hipthrust for a warm up.

Price range: $66 to $92

Oner Active:

The UK based athletic brand is slowly growing popularity in Gyms across Australia. Oner active has 1m followers on Instagram.

Oner is the typical pilates girl workout line. While the styles are cute and flattering, but these outfits offer more compression and they’re made to get seriously sweaty.

Oner Active personality: Follows a lot of UK based Instagram influencers, started off wearing Gymshark. Consistent with training and lives by the 80/20 rule. Is probably working out Glutes and Hamstrings and can bench press a plate or two while listening to Charli XCX.

Price range: $40 to $114.

LORNA JANE:

Lorna Jane is Australia’s most well-known active wear brands, ranges from buttery-soft leggings and shorts to comfy crops. The brand offers looks for brunch, pilates and any errand.

Lorna Jane personality: New to the gym and making yourself the priority. 10,000 steps a day is a must. You’re a practical woman, and there’s no stopping you. Are you wearing your Lorna Jane at the gym? Only sometimes. Most likely to be found worn on a hot girl walk with friends with a coffee in hand.

Price range: $40 to $150

lululemon:

For over 23 years, lululemon has been providing the best yoga and pilates activewear worldwide. While the a pair of leggings is pricey, they will continue to be on high rotation for years to come.

The ‘" IT" GIRL’ Define Jacket Nulu in black or bone for $149 is a must have for 2025.

The yoga wear brand stocks designs for running, cycling, training and most recently golf.

lululemon personality: Affluent, enjoys a low-impact style of training, hot yoga or Yoga Vinyasa pilates and probably most recently fell in love with Golf and can be caught wearing the Align high-rise skirt on the course.

Lululemon personality: Works in the fitness industry or health-conscious. Can be seen grabbing a coffee or a juice with your yoga matt after a pilates or Yoga class. Comfort and style are a must, probably has a European holiday booked for 2025. You are known for saying you’re devoted to Lululemon because of the quality but have never bothered trying another brand.

Price range: $59 to $489

OG GYMSHARK:

You’re supported comfortable, and whether you’re into weightlifting or hybrid- athlete. Gymshark will have a style to suit your training. The collection of activewear covering running, lifting, yoga, pilates and functional fitness.

Gymshark personality: You have been working out since you were 15, and creatine is the holy grail to gains. Probably trying out a new pre-work out and running on oxyshred. You probably have a pair of vital seamless shorts from 2019 that you wont throw away. If Whitney Simmonds drops a collection, you probably have it.

Price range: $30 to $130
