An Aussie family have revealed their heartbreak and horror after their two-month-old baby boy was diagnosed with a rare cancer – while still in his mother’s womb.

MELBOURNE, OCTOBER 24, 2024: Lara Scott, pictured with daughter Elsie, 8 months. Cancer survivor Lara Scott was diagnosed with a rare type of thyroid cancer shortly after her first-baby Ada was born and fought it twice.When she was pregnant with her second daughter, Elsie, in February this year, she felt unwell and went to the emergency department - where she then had a heart attack. She was eventually diagnosed with an extremely rare - and unrelated to her first - type of cancer which impacted her adrenaline levels - causing the heart attack. She would not have bothered to seek help that night if she hadn't been pregnant - she was worried for her baby and feared it was pre-eclampsia. Her baby Elsie saved her life. Picture: Mark Stewart
