Who won’t be allowed into Hemsworth trainer’s ‘exclusive’ Brisbane gym

The man who turned Chris Hemsworth into Thor is opening an ‘exclusive’ new gym in Brisbane and says that if you fit into one of these categories this is “not the gym for you”.

The man who helped chisel Thor’s muscles is now opening one of the most exclusive gyms in Brisbane, but it has an age limit.

Jonathan Freeman is the founder of over 50s gym, Club Active, which is now opening its first Brisbane-based club in Carindale.

Freeman said the gym has a strict “no Millennials, gym junkies or fitness posers” policy.

“If you were born after 1970, we’re not the gym for you – until you read the 50 milestone and you’ll be more than welcome.”

And if there’s anyone the over 50s demographic can trust to get them into shape, it’s the man who helped Chris Hemsworth become Thor.

“It was phenomenal working with Chris - he’s completely down to earth and we’ve become really good friends as a result,” he told Confidential.

But you don’t have to look like Thor to come to Club Active, with Freeman saying he just wanted to create a “non-intimidating and fun” space for like-minded people.

“My parents were my primary inspiration to launch the business. Having my parents in that active baby boomer space, it was important for me to ensure they change the way they age through exercise – and no other facility catered to the demographic.”

The Carindale club open day is on November 27 and will include demonstrations, mini-massages, body scans and tailored expert advice.
