The voices behind beloved Bluey characters Bandit and Chilli have met for the first time, before appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

10 things only parents of 'Bluey' fans will understand

Two stars behind Brisbane animated cartoon Bluey have appeared on a US late show ahead of Bluey’s debut flying above Manhattan.

David McCormack, the voice of Bandit, and Melanie Zanetti, the voice of Chilli stopped by the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, with the host saying he was a huge fan.

“It’s the best show on TV right now,” Mr Fallon said.

“It’s so funny, it’s clever, it’s a game changer … the kids aren't even watching. It’s just me.”

The Bluey stars told Mr Fallon they had only met two days before the interview.

Ms Zanetti told the host about the many factors that have kept the actors separate.

“We record separately, we live in different cities and I travel a lot for work, so this is the first time. It was wild,” she said.

“We’re just isolated in our booths,” added Mr McCormack.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk wished the pair luck in a Facebook comment ahead of their appearance before a 15m-long hand-painted balloon of Bluey will fly above New York City for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Nearly 100 people will be required to operate the balloon in front of the parade which 2.5 million people lined the streets to watch while 25 million watched from home last year.

The ever popular and influential series has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2018, garnering rave reviews and hundreds of millions of views.

Set and animated in Brisbane, the Paddington house that inspired Bluey’s home was extensively renovated earlier this year to look as it does on the show for a one off exclusive getaway before being returned to its original state and later sold for over $1.8 million.
